Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons where extent of the
most extensive cover type in the hexagon occupies >22% of the
hexagon and topography is varied. The logistic regression analysis
showed positive or negative association with topographic variation,
and-to a lesser degree-wetlands and wet shrubland, sagebrush
steppe, coastal salt marsh and estuary, stream density, elevation (hex.
avg.), and July maximum temperature (hex. max.).
